Specifics: Canon backdating approximately 14 years into the past, to the recently released film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Specifically, just before the droid/slave rebellion shootout on Kessel.

At this point in time, Lando is a smuggler and a gambler, owner of the Millennium Falcon, and friend/partner of the droid L3-37. He has only just met Han Solo and Chewbacca, and is years away from meeting any other Star Wars characters you might recognize. He doesn't even know Lobot yet.

This Lando is just as smooth and suave as the Lando you know and love... if anything, he's even more so, as he has yet to be humbled by loss and responsibility. He's hot shit and he's not afraid to tell you that he knows it. Notable quotes include: "Everything you've heard about me is true," and "Didn't you notice two tens were talking? ...And here you are: a five." He's a liar and a cheat, but he's so charming you won't even notice.

As for my reasons for backdating him, it's simply that playing him at this current canon point has become a little stale, and I feel like I've explored everything I wanted to with Lando as he is. (I've played Lando from this canon point in three different games now.) If approved, I plan to play this younger, fresher, more hot headed Lando for a while, revitalize all his existing cr and maybe make new cr as well, then once I feel like I've done everything I needed to, I will canon update him to the furthest point in canon, the novel Last Shot, which takes place about two years after Return of the Jedi.

As for his powers, I will be swapping out Blaster Summoning and Facial Hair Generation for the following two powers:

Ace Up His Sleeve: When playing a card game, be it poker, sabacc, or uno, Lando will always have a winning card up his sleeve.

Cape-rs: Every cape Lando wears will gain a mind of its own, like Dr. Strange's Cloak of Levitation (except without the ability to fly). The capes lose sentience as soon as he removes them.

NOTE: I will be switching journals to play younger Lando. The new journal is smugler. He will also be coming in with a holorecorder, which the mods have assured me does not require a power slot.

Powers:

• Technopathy - The ability to interface with electronics and computers/computerized beings. In Lando's canon, this is possible through the use of an AJ^6 cybernetic construct, but he will be able to do it without that. He will be able to communicate with, diagnose problems in, and instruct all computerized technology (assuming said computer isn't a sentient, self-aware being that can choose for themselves whether or not to obey his instructions). This power does not work on the Porters or other specified government technology.
  
  
• Spontaneous Facial Hair Generation - This power will give Lando the ability to make other people grow facial hair with just a touch. Moustaches will be easiest, though if he concentrates he can do a goatee as well. A full beard will take a lot out of him, and he'll need time to recover. The facial hair will appear the same color as the natural hair on the person's head. If the person is otherwise incapable of growing hair (i.e. they're an android or some other inorganic or hairless person), the facial hair will be black. The facial hair will last for an hour before it will disappear.
  
  
• Blaster Summoning - With this ability, Lando will be able to pull a blaster from thin air, but only when he absolutely needs one. The second the need disappears, so does the blaster. The type of blaster he summons would depend on the situation: if he's in a close range standoff, then a blaster pistol would appear; for long range problems, a blaster rifle. He cannot keep the blasters past the moment of danger, and he cannot summon a blaster outside of that moment either.

PERSONALITY:
Lando is, first and foremost, an opportunist. He had a rough childhood-- Soccoro is not an easy place to grow up-- and learned early on that if you're going to get anything in life, you have to take it yourself. He started off as a smuggler and a gambler, taking jobs to pay off his debts, running with a less than legal crowd across the galaxy. But Lando is also loyal, and he puts his trust in people who are loyal to him. Case in point, Lobot. When Lobot sacrificed his mind so that he and Lando could escape the ship that was about to explode, Lando swore to find a way to get his friend back, and kept Lobot with him through his years at Cloud City, serving as his right hand man.

Being Baron Administrator of Cloud City taught Lando responsibility, and to look out for the well beings of people other than himself. When Vader arrived and forced him to make a deal to turn over his friends, he agreed because it would guarantee the safety of the people in his charge. Then, when Vader altered the terms of their deal, he bailed, but not before trying to get as many people out of Cloud City as he could.

Lando is someone who plays games, always trying to succeed and come out ahead. Whether it's a game of Sabacc with a ship at stake, or whether it's a longer game of deception, he's pretty good at rolling with the punches. This is the guy who went on for years about how he can't stand blasters, won't use 'em, et cetera, only so that when the time came he finally had to use a blaster, no one would see it coming.

Doing the right thing for the right, more altruistic reasons is relatively new to Lando, but he finds it suits him well. He likes the adventure that comes along with fighting for the Rebel Alliance, but he also likes the acclaim. And he feels that he's ignored the misdeeds of the Empire for far too long. He knows there's not much he can do by himself to take down the Empire, but if there's a way for him to help the Rebellion do just that, he will.

POWER: Probability Manipulation. Lando will have the ability to alter the likelihood of an outcome, whether by making an unlikely result occur or making the likely result not happen. This might manifest as being in the right place at the right time, or always having on hand exactly what he needs to make something work. At first he won't be able to control it, and will just have incredibly good luck. However, the more he uses his power to get things his way, the weaker he will become physically, developing a cough or a nosebleed if he goes too far. Thus, he'll learn to develop control and will only use the ability when he needs to.

Well, that sure was harder than it needed to be. Still don't get why these things don't have a hologram function, but anyway. The name's Lando Calrissian, newly "imported." Which is odd to say, because usually I'm the one doing the importing. I'm looking for news on the Rebel Alliance, if anyone's got any word. Hoping some information can get through that Porter, 'cause I've got some news to get back to the proper channels.
